Issue SMTP authentication error

Hi,
I'm unable to send out mails from my server. Following authentication error is generating in log file :

PHP Warning: mail(): SMTP server response: 503 This mail server requires authentication when attempting to send to a non-local e-mail address. Please check your mail client settings or contact your administrator to verify that the domain or address is defined for this server.

PHP Warning: mail(): SMTP server response: 503 Bad sequence of commands. You must specify the recipients of a message before you can send it.


Can anyone guide me through this

This looks like a known problem. Have you checked KB - Unable to send an email via PHP or ASP.NET script: 503 This mail server requires authentication when attempting to send to a non-local e-mail address ?
