Hi,
I'm having strange behavior on machine with Plesk 9.5.3 running qmail.
Everyday after 6 am SMTP service is starting to give timeouts for about 10-15 minutes.
I'm monitoring this with nagios passive checks.
I've setup simple bash scripts to dump output of netstat, ps and top commands to check what is going on when smtp errors shows up. Number of smtp connections going high from about 15 to 170, but for me it looks like some kind of troubles inside, like qmail not handling all connections and the number of them is increasing.
My guess is, it is something running on cron basis and giving troubles to smtp service.
Any hints on this will be great.
