SMTP Traffic

curdude

New Pleskian
Hello,

I have two sites that register a high amount to SMTP traffic. Both sited have only forwarding email addresses.

Do forwarding addresses accumulate SMTP traffic on the log?

Also, if a forwarding email is created without a mailbox is it necessary to add a password so that "others" cannot use the blank SMTP server to send email out?

Thank you.

Please have a closer look on the documentation, please:

... and please have another look on the mail - settings for each account as well:

Without any log - entries ( mail - logs ) and description HOW you currentlty configured your eMail - accounts, with wich mail - server and configuration - files, limits, spam-protection, and so on, we can only GUESS, what might happen on your server or not and the possibilities are really huge.... so a clear answer wouldn't be possible and any suggestions could be nonsens, because it might not suit your environment. You will find all Linux -Plesk based logs and configurations definitions here:
