  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

spam protection stops qmail service

Every time I turn on the check box Switch on spam protection based on DNS blackhole lists, the SMTP / Qmail service stops.

Id like to switch on the Spamhaus Policy Block List, but the server does not send any email with this option turned on, and, in the Service Management, the SMTP Server (Qmail) shows the red cross (Service not running). It only goes running again if I disable the Spam checkbox.

Hi,

this is not a Plesk related issue. I think you are using the List: spamhaus.org
With this List (and Plesk Version 8.4) I encountered the same problem.

The simple solution for me was to use another List (just delete spamhaus in the field and set another list there) and everything was fine again.

Unfortunatelly I dont get any answer from the Spamhaus Support right now so I cant say any details.

Best regards,

dkuwi

Hi,

no problem, hm it is hard to say which list you should use as there are several lists and all have there own positives and negatives. I tested some additional lists and think that the list of nixspam.org or spamcop is ok.
