spammers using authentication

Frater

Regular Pleskian
Lately I'm having several breaches and 5 accounts have been compromised.
They didn't have strong passwords, so I changed these.

One of these accounts however was using an account where the e-mail address is different than its account.
I'm normally not using these setups, but this one made it easier to migrate.

The account's name isn't known to the world, its alias is.

The spammer wasn't using the account's name to get in, but the alias address.
I didn't even know it was possible to use that address and on top of it, it's not even case-sensitive.

I would like to know how I can change this behaviour.....
