*** Please note that ó and ñ are spanish caracters there is no error, the message is sent as UTF-8 wich is OK

I don't know what else to do, i have a good content, PTR records are OK, on https://www.mail-tester.com/ i get 10/10 wich is perfect. The IP is not blacklisted, i have this IP from 2 years ago and i never sent SPAM, to prevent my clients to use newsletter campaign's, i limited all the accounts to 10 email /hour and 100/ day.

Thanks in advance,
Eugen P.

Hello Eugen,

Which is the email flagged as SPAM? (Does also flag it or only Gmail?)

Hi,

Thanks for your quick response, yesterday before adding dmarc record, email were marked as spam from hotmail, yahoo and gmail.
Testing today, apearently works on yahoo and hotmail, (tested on a brand new yahoo and hotmail account), but on gmail dosen't work, email is deliveded in junk folder. I have sent emails with original content, i didn't use test, testing or other common subjects.. I use for test only new gmail, yahoo, or msn accounts.

Thanks,
Eugen P.

oh... i forgot to mention, gmail marks email as possible spam, and the reason is that the message looks like a spam message detected by their spam filters. or something like this on a yellow box.

Hello Eugen,

I would like to see the full headers of the message marked as SPAM from Gmail.
There you said also that Gmail can mark a message as SPAM based on the contents of the email, especially if an email contains external links, images and and or suspected keywords etc.

I really don't know what is all about, maybe it could be the ISP provider... my mails passes all the tests, even hotmail and google validates spf, dkim, dmarc etc etc... but it s marked as spam. I only test with brand new emails, with just a few mails sent per hour.

Thanks in advance,
Eugen P.

Eugen,

Could you please test without your signature, i.e. omit all of this:

Hi,

See this comparation:

I have another account wich is using 1&1 MX IP, annd the sofware for email is not Roundcube. I sent 4 emails, two from [email protected] (wich uses 1&1 email software and IP) and two from [email protected] wich is using postfix with roundcube and my static IP.
The results were amazing so lets split gmail from hotmail first.

-----
Gmail results
-----

1. [email protected] email is delivered in Inbox!!! without dkim, spf, dmarc etc etc...
2. [email protected] is delivered in SPAM, despite dkim, spf, dmarc!!!!
*** The email from [email protected] was sent in html and the otherone was sent in txt format, without links.

***Please note that the content is verry similar with the content from yesterday sent from [email protected], but somehow, without dkim, spf, dmarc....1&1 software and IP delivers in Inbox, see headers from [email protected]:

It could be RFC5322 the cause of all this?, if so, how can i implement RFC5322...i thinks it's already implemented for HTML outgoing email format. Dosen't have any sense, anyways cause i sent simple txt messages and were delivered in gmail and hotmail SPAM folders.

Thanks in advance,

@pdsolutions1

You seem to have a problem, similar to the one discussed in http://talk.plesk.com/threads/trouble-with-spf.335809/#post-791839

I can refer to that topic thread and emphasize that you should note that both of you use a VPS of the kind "sxxxxx.onlinehome-server.info".

The probable root cause of the problem is the way your hosting provider is routing mail.

Another issue that I did not discuss in the other topic thread, is concerning the priorities given to the various mail servers.

It might be useful to try to set the priority of one of your mail servers, dc-7e1939e7-mail.pixeldraw.net, to the value of 5 and see what happens.

Finally, before trying any of the above, make sure that

- CloudFlare does not handle requests for the domains used by the mail servers (I noticed that you use CloudFlare, which is not a good idea: it should not be in front of mail servers),
- a primary mail server (dc-7e1939e7-mail.pixeldraw.net) and a secondary mail server (dc-7e1939e7-mail2.pixeldraw.net) are not on the same physical server (that makes no sense)

@pdsolutions1,

Google is rather "indifferent" about DKIM, DomainKeys, DMARC records etc, in the sense that they are not obligatory: this also implies that all mails are treated equally (in theory), with the mails from a mail server with properly configured DKIM, DomainKeys and/or DMARC passing spam related tests more easily.

If another server can pass the mail, while the original server cannot, this hints that is something is not properly configured in the (original) mail server.

The improper configuration has nothing to do with IPv6 or IPv4 though.

The improper configuration is present on your VPS or the main server, on which your VPS is running.

Just disable DKIM and DomainKeys in Plesk and try to

a) send mail: success means that the culprit is improper DKIM or DomainKeys configuration;

b) send mail with DKIM activated: succes means improper DomainKeys configuration (adjust the configuration);

c) send mail with DomainKeys: succes means improper DKIM configuration (adjust the configuration);

and failure in all (above) cases (often) means improper configuration on the main server, hosting your VPS.

Just try it.

Regards.....

Hi,

I did all you suggested, there is no solution for this, with or without dkim, spf, domainkeys emails are delivered in SPAM.
I saw that emails are OK for hotmail, a few days ago there were delivered in SPAM folder in hotmail, but now somehow hotmail recives all my email in INBOX.
For the hotmail test i used new hotmail accounts and different content, i sent the same accepted content to a new gmail account and it was delivered in SPAM

I really don't get it, i sent the same email content to a brand new yahoo.es and outlook accounts, both delivered in INBOX.
So, outlook=OK, yahoo=OK, gmail=fail
I think the cause it could be the IP, even if is not blacklisted, it could be the problem, i reinstalled postfix, removed dkim, domainkeys, checking if main.cf is the same with main.cf from the new VPS that works (the new server has different IP). Maybe, somehow, testing i got blacklisted and google keeps my IP somewhere in they blacklist. If so, how can i contact google to check it?

Thanks in advance

@pdsolutions1,

You are emphasizing the negatives (i.e. mail from one server gets into the Gmail spam box), without noting the positives (everything else goes ok by now).

I mean to say: do not be bothered about it.

First of all, note that Gmail is not particularly bothered by IPs, it is about domains.

Second, note that Gmail has some "advanced spam learning" (advanced, what is in a word): it has "learned" that your domain is potential (!) spam.

In short, Gmail treats mail from "pixeldraw.net" as potential spam, given specific content of mails from the past (flagging mail as spam) and given the mails being sent to Gmail (ending up in the Spam folder, since Gmail has learned it should be treated as potential spam).

Now, the only thing you have to note is the word: POTENTIAL.

It does not mean that Gmail views your mail as factual spam.

Just send some mails from pixeldraw.net to your personal gmail account, go to the spam folder and assign that it should not be considered as spam.

That is all, Gmail will "learn" that it is not a spam mail and will try to deliver to the inbox.

It can be the case that your customers have to do the same, but with normal content in every mail from pixeldraw.net AND given the "learning" by Gmail, this scenario is very unllikely.

One piece of advice though: keep a "spare domain" (i.e. a extra domain) for the case that you are again under heavy spam attack, since "switching" between domains will prevent that some of the negative consequences of spam can be prevented. Also note that the link between IPs and domains is relevant: if possible, also keep a "spare IP", in order to switch IPs.

Regards.....

Hi,

"Just send some mails from pixeldraw.net to your personal gmail account, go to the spam folder and assign that it should not be considered as spam. " i did that already, i told google emails were not spam with 20 different google accounts and still no changes.

It's very, very frustrating cause i have this problem from 6 months ago and 80% from our clients are using gmail accounts, we need to call every client to ensure that he got our email.

I also compared my "gmail headers" with other heders from emails that i recived in INBOX, and i see no difference... i still don't understand how new VPS with nothing setted up sends in INBOX and my emails are recognized as possible SPAM.

Thanks

@pdsolutions1

Well, the Gmail "learning" is not that fast: it can take a lot of time before your mails get delivered to the Inbox.

Another factor of relevance is the infrastructure upon which you are hosting: a VPS, implying that

- the routing of mail can be a critical factor: if the hosting provider does not structure mail routing properly, you will always have this issue (and note that VPS providers will launch "clean" VPSes and often not "repair" old VPSes, which could be an explanation for the difference between origin and test VPSes, if the issue has to do with the routing of mail),

- any VPS on the hosting provider can be "contributing negatively" to spam scores: for instance, in certain VPS setups, it can be the case that your VPS is "repaired for spamming", while other VPS (on the same main server) are not, with a potential endresult that all mail (originating from the main server) still ends up in spam folders.

It is interesting to have a look at the following URLs and compare them:

1 - old server: http://www.senderbase.org/lookup/?search_string=217.160.108.200
2 - new server: http://www.senderbase.org/lookup/?search_string=217.160.106.103
3 - general: http://www.senderbase.org/lookup/domain/?search_string=onlinehome-server.info

and, besides the remarkable FWD/REV DNS mismatches (i.e. they should not occur), the link under 3 gives a general idea why Gmail is treating mails as potential spam:

- huge mail volumes (far more than normal mail traffic would justify)
- a lot of "poor mail reputations"
- consistent patterns across many servers in the network

and this (in short) implies that you are very likely to be the indirect victim of third-party activity within the (entire) network and/or of poor infrastructure design and configuration.

Note that the new test server is only an "accident going to happen": as soon as more VPSes will be assigned to that machine, you can expect the same results from the original VPS applying to the new (test) server, i.e. a lot of spam flagging.

Maybe you should consider to run your mailservers elsewhere.......

Regards....

Hi,

Oh my, i didn't knew 1and1 are sooooo bad... look here...the last point is a disaster..onlinehome-server.info, they asigned a subdomain to this domain...so that directley affects my server too. A few days ago i wrote a email asking for support and they told me that as i own a dedicatd server they have nothing to do. I knew that 1and1 has a bad reputation, i asked OVH for a quote but i'm not sure where to go... what would you recommend me?

Thanks
