• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question SPF Spam Protection: is it working ?

Hi,
I've configured Plesk to reject email when SPF fail, but I'm receiving email even though the rule is matched.
Is this correct, or I'm doing something wrong ?

Thank you

Hi,

The SPF Checking mode indicated in your screenshot will result in an SPF reject only when the sending domain has an SPF record and checks against that record result in fail.

You might want "Reject mail when SPF does not resolve to pass", but that will also reject any emails from domains that didn't publish an SPF record or your server can't resolve the SPF record of the sending domain.

Having multiple SPF records for the same domain/subdomain will result in SPF check failures.

I recommend keeping "Reject mail when SPF resolves to fail".
