Hello Peeeps! How are you all?

Moderator, in the wrong forum? Move it for me if ya need to.

Q:
I am running 7.5 on a Fedora install. What I wanna know is regarding the Webalizer that comes with it. I am having an issue with the Webstats that comes with it, and I check the (accessible via password protected directory '/plesk-stat/') option. What the heck is the password and how do I set it? I have tried the user password and the FTP password and neither work.

And if I uncheck it, it still asks for my password. Help?

I think you need to use the protected directory username. You can change this under "directories" in plesk. Let me know if I'm incorrect :)

I just checked under the domain I was speaking about and there are NO active protected directories.

The strange thing is that if I check and uncheck the box for (accessible via password protected directory '/plesk-stat/') it makes NO difference

For the record, I *DO* want it password protected, just somehow need to GET that password or be able se it

Any other ideas on how to get this password?

Read the manual?

When enabling web statistics, it is recommended that you also select the checkbox for creating a password protected directory plesk-stat to restrict access to statistics. You will be able to access the statistics via URLs like https://domain.tld/plesk-stat/ using your FTP login and password. For security reasons, we recommend that you use different passwords for logging in to your FTP account and accessing the statistics. You can change the password for accessing the statistics directory in the password protected directory properties.

For web statistics, you will need to access https://domain.tld/plesk-stat/webstat, for secure web server statistics - https://domain.tld/plesk-stat/webstat-ssl, for FTP statistics - https://domain.tld/plesk-stat/ftpstat, and for Anonymous FTP - https://domain.tld/plesk-stat/anon_ftpstat.

Of course I read it. Ok, things like this I can usually figure out.

I have selected the checkbox for creating a password protected directory plesk-stat to restrict access to statistics

Lets talk about what is happening to me:

1. https://www.mysite.com/plesk-stat/ does NOT work with my FTP password
2. https://www.mysite.com/plesk-stat/webstat does NOT work when I
3. I have set up a passworded directory, in directories, for the (plesk-stat directory) and I still CANNOT log in. I changed the password to make it different than my FTP login and still NOPE.

ERROR: You are not authorized to view this page

The question I have is this: When I make changes, are they instantaeous? Or do they take a bit to take effect? Do I have to restart any services?

httpd.conf will be changed and apache will be restarted.

This takes a few minutes (you can configure how many minutes in the server part of the control panel).

I have no idea why this is happening, but I *STILL* cannot access stats here.

My Apache is set at 900 second restart level

I have UNCHECKED the box for (accessible via password protected directory '/plesk-stat/) and still cannot get in without being prompted for a user and password.

Tried these:
https://www.mysite.com/plesk-stat/
http://www.mysite.com/plesk-stat/

The problem is that I cannot get in without prompting me for a password. I have TRIED all my passwords for FTP/DB/user etc.

I also have read the documentation on it

Help?
