Stop autoresponder replying to spam

One of my users uses an autoresponder when he's out of the office. Trouble is, it replies to spam, and these replies in turn often bounces back to him.

Is there any way to stop this behaviour? Would automatically deleting spam (at the moment, his account is set to just flag it) solve the problem, or does the autoresponder kick in before spamassassin?
