subdomain problem with coldfusion

I have a domain.com which serves cfm files OK, but if I create subdomain.domain.com the cfm files return a 404 page not found error. HTML files work OK in that directory.

How do I fix this?

Check if the .cfm mappings are added in IIS, by logging into the server
