  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Subdomain with www

Bogdan1

Regular Pleskian
Hello,

I have a problem with a subdomain.
when I try to access the subdomain like this "admin.domain.com" everything works.
If I try like this "www.admin.domain.com", I'll get error server DNS address could not be found.

My CNAME record is "CNAME www.admin is an alias of admin.appletrh.cz".

How to fix that? Please don't tell me, that I have to create another www.admin subdomain in admin panel.
If yes, how to redirect www.admin to admin? Because I don't want to have XY subdomains.

Thanks

Hi Bogdan1,

pls. note, that DNS changes may take UP TO 72 HOURS, untill all worldwide dns servers are synched. In your case, you just should have waited a few hours, before asking, because all setup is fine:

=> https://www.dnswatch.info/dns/dnslookup?la=en&host=www.admin.appletrh.cz&type=A&submit=Resolve
=> https://www.dnswatch.info/dns/dnslookup?la=en&host=admin.appletrh.cz&type=A&submit=Resolve

The only mistake is your current certificate ( the standart Plesk certificate ), which is essential, because you force the redirect from http to https. ;)

Oh, I see. I was confused because I added cname for subdomain without www and it started working immediately.
Thanks
