Subdomains point to main domain

Hi there

I am looking for a way to make subdomain1.domain.com point to www.domain.com without opening subdomains as it is only a redirect...

I tried using CNAME in DNS but it doesn't work :-( Doesn't point to the main domain.com page which I find wierd, as that is how www.domain.com is made alias for domain.com...

Any ideas?
