Successful update on Ubuntu?

I'm limping along with 8.4 right now and wondering if anyone has successfully upgraded to 8.6 on an Ubuntu based system? I don't want the nightmare I had to go through last time so I was hoping I could hear if someone has a success story.

jep, i did an update on a ubuntu 6.06 lts. no problems so far. don't forget to do a backup though

Same here updated on 7.10 and seems to be running ok.
