  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Suggestions for backup system (entery server) - Best pratices

hardbrasil

Regular Pleskian
Hello, fellas, i would like to know which backup solution (system) do you use, and why?

i made a research into internet and there is a lot of options, and maybe the experience can say more laugher.
i mean, in practice some technologies are more recommended... So i would like your opinion and know what you use in you infrastructure, best pratices!

we have 4 scenarios here

a) we need a server image (in case of system failure or root server hacked )

b) We need backup of vhosts structure (clients websites)
- one backup full of each domain folder structure each 15 days (maintain 1 backup file erase the most old)
- One backup incremental (per day)
- So for each client we gone have 2 backups, one with 15 days age and other with 1 day age. what do you think about this scenario?

c) The mysql we already have a software that resolve our needs.

d) Emails, they are so dynamic i don't see any way to backup this.
only for those that use webmail and let on server. What options do we have to keep them safe?

### Tools

# Idera R1 (we are testing this but we are not able to make it run completelly)

# Acronis (i heard that they are the best) but very expensive tool

# Plesk 11.5 Backup manager (who use? what is the best pratices?)

that is it,

thank you people!

who knows what this options include?
