Resolved System update errors Plesk

I have been receiving an error message from the package manager summary notification since yesterday. Did some research but not sure if this is the same as the error I am receiving reason being I don't see full error message and location on the summary. Is this a similar situation to what I am having? PUM will not perform any update operations until Plesk installation is fixed

The notification summary I received:
Reason: 2017-07-20 05:26:42 INFO: pum is called with arguments: ['--list', '--repo-info', '--json']
2017-07-20 05:26:42 ERROR: Previous Plesk installer call finished unsuccessfully. PUM will not perform any update operations until Plesk installation is fixed.
2017-07-20 05:26:42 ERROR: Exited with returncode 50.

Here is my system overview:

• OS: ‪Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS‬
• Product: Plesk Onyx 17.0.17 Update #29 , last updated at July 11, 2017 05:27 AM

Sounds as if the Plesk update manager is corrupt as the result of an unfinished previous installation process. Have you check the Plesk installer log at /var/log/plesk/install/plesk_17.0.17_installation.log for the reason why the previous installer did not finish successfully?

Have you considered to try a repair installation with
# plesk repair installation
or to re-run the installer by
# plesk installer --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --upgrade-installed-components
?

Thank you for the reply. I don't see any specific errors which I can use to troubleshoot this problem. I ran the 'plesk repair installation' command again. See extract from error I received below:

I have not tried to run 'plesk installer --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --upgrade-installed-components'. Should I go ahead and run this command? I also noticed 17.5.3 is available, should I backup server and update to this version?

if you would like to investigate your "root cause", you have to inspect your webserver depending log - files, as apache + nginx did have some issues/errors/problems during the restart processes:

Pls. restart the service manually, to investigate ( possible ) issues/errors/problems and consider as well to rebuild all webserver related configuration files with the help of the "Plesk Repair Utility":

plesk repair web -y -v

I have not tried to run 'plesk installer --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --upgrade-installed-components'. Should I go ahead and run this command?

The command

plesk installer --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --upgrade-installed-components

... will NEVER harm your system, it will make sure, that all latest Plesk updates/upgrades/patches are installed.

I also noticed 17.5.3 is available, should I backup server and update to this version?

The Plesk version 17.5.3 is a STABLE release ( late adopter ) since 03.07.2017. It is certainly recommended to upgrade to this version.
