New Pleskian
Hi all,

Today i get this error when opening my plesk server :

The file /opt/psa/admin/htdocs/application.php is part of Plesk distribution. It cannot be run outside of Plesk environment.

I connect to SSH and try some commands :
  • restart plesk services (psa, sw-cp-server, sw-engine)
  • plesk repair installation
  • plesk installer update --repatch
  • plesk repair all
Nothing is working, the error is always here.

I try also to ask Plesk support intervention but the licence was bough not directly on Plesk website but OVH, the licence format is good (PLSK.xxxxxx.xxxx) but the value is not validated.

Here the result of plesk -v command :
Product version: Plesk Onyx 17.8.11 Update #53

The issue with Domain Traffic Monitor on outdated Plesk Onyx 17.5.3 or 17.8.11 with old MU, e.g. 17.8.11 MU #31

Resolution:
  1. Temporarily disable the extension:
    Code:
    # plesk bin extension --disable traffic-monitor
  2. Update Plesk Onyx 17.8.11 to the latest MU or to Obsidian.
  3. Enable the extension back.

Hello,
I have tried with "plesk bin extension --disable traffic-monitor" but I still get the same error "The file /opt/psa/admin/htdocs/application.php is part of Plesk distribution. It cannot be run outside of Plesk environment."

Is there any other command I should issue after it? I tried to restart the psa and sw-cp-server, but did not help.

I can confirm that this works as expected!

Thx - worked.

Anyway: what's the reason for this extension failing from one moment to another on multiple installations? (There was an info on that linking to the Plesk Support area, but it seems that i'm not allowed to access that page...)

The provider of my installation is Hosteurope - so maybe there might be a connection?

I think my file /opt/psa/admin/htdocs/application.php is corrupted, anyone would be able to send me a copy taken from your servers? I tried to repair the plesk installation but it did not restore the file.

Please, please, please even after disabling the traffic monitor extension I am still locked out from the Plesk admin page.

IgorG, YOU ARE THE SANTA CLAUS OF THE DAY !!!

All my thanks to you for this tips !! My Plesk is alive with only the first command. This extension is not important

I plan to update Plesk next week to finish points 2 and 3

For the reason, i think the extension make an update (may be for critical security reason) but this update is not compatible with the version of Plesk.

My config for automatic updates (/admin/pum/settings):
  • Automatically install Plesk updates (Recommended) : unchecked
  • Automatically install updates for third-party components shipped by Plesk : checked but geyed
  • Automatically install system package updates : unchecked
I think the first checkbox was checked at a moment, and the second to, but later only the first has been unchecked.

So with this configuration, maybe plesk updates DTM for security reason even if it is not compatible.

I have another server with the exactly same OD/Plesk configuration, but all 3 checkboxes of auto update configuration are checked, and this plesk did not have this problem
