Ubuntu upgrade from 10.04.4 to 12.04 safe?

RolandG

New Pleskian
Hello, I have some questions.
Is it 100% safe to upgrade from 10.04.4 (x86_64) to 12.04?

Will it break anything at plesk?

When I type "do-release-upgrade" will everything run automatically or do I have to care for something?

my plesk version: v11.0.9_build110120608.16 os_Ubuntu 10.04
Thanks.

Theoretically it should work but I would not recommend it.

How would you recommend getting PHP > 5.3.2 on Ubuntu 10.04?

I see that the release notes for Plesk 11 state that it comes with 5.3.10, but it still seems to be 5.3.2 on my Ubuntu 10.04 with Plesk 11.0.9

Thanks

ps. did try upgrade to 12.04 yesterday.... but had real problems with BIND, and had to restore back to 10.04

Has anyone got a view on how to do this, as I'd really like to start using the new Zend Framework which relies on 5.3.3?

Thanks in advance for any help

Plesk doesn’t ship client’s PHP, it only downloads it from original OS vendor repo and it is quite likely it may be outdated there. If your OS comes with PHP 5.4, then Plesk would run PHP 5.4 for clients.
Or use recommendation from http://kb.parallels.com/114753
