  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Unable to access Control Panel - Zend_Db_Statement_Exception

New Pleskian
Hi,

I am unable to log in my Plesk Control Panel today. I am using Plesk 11.5.30, and it has last been updated on Apr. 3. I have the following error message:

ERROR: Zend_Db_Statement_Exception: SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1 Can't create/write to file '/tmp/#sql_49b5_0.MYD' (Errcode: 17)

Additionally, an exception has occurred while trying to report this error: Zend_Db_Statement_Exception
SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1 Can't create/write to file '/tmp/#sql_49b5_0.MYD' (Errcode: 17) (Pdo.php:234)

I had a look at this help page "Control Panel cannot be accessed because of the error "Can't create/write to file" (http://kb.parallels.com/en/11135) and it says i must change the rights for the \tmp directory. Ok. Since I'm not a "Command line" user, i have looked at the rights using Virtuozzo file manager. Here is what i have:

I don't understand why Plesk thinks the rights for \tmp are not ok.
Any idea welcomed!

Christophe

What error are you getting on your mysql logs file ?

Also check your disk and inode usages of /tmp directory using df -h and df -i command

Hi InderS,

Thx for getting back in touch. Here are the last news so far...

* First of all, everything is back to normal this morning, but i didn't do anything to solve the issue myself. Good, but what happened?
* During the last two days, i experienced other problems, that may be related to the problem.
* For instance, i had lost all my categories and tags in one of my WordPress sites. I crawled in various WP support forums, and finally found something about the /tmp partition, suggesting it could be full, inducing problems in MySQL, as you suggest too.
* I also had a look at the server resources in Virtuozzo, and found that dcachesize had reached the hard limit of my current configuration (6 Mo). And this is also related to what you mention.

The problem was that i didn't know at all what to do to correct the problem. But this mornig, i received a message from Plesk indicating that Parallels had just been updated to the last version. I then tried to log again in Plesk and - tadam! -it worked... And then back to my WP site, i found that categories and tags were back again and working.

So i don't know exactly what happened, but it seems that the automatic update of Parallels solved the issue.

Anyway thx for your suggestion.

Best,
Christophe
