Unable to Upload to Server

Hello Plesk

I am a FTP noob so please go easy.

I installed FileZilla

FileZilla Client

Operating system:
Name: Windows NT 6.1 (build 7601, Service Pack 1)
Version: 6.1
Platform: 64 bit system

I created an account/profile using Site Manager

File > Site Manager > New Site
entered my IP address
set login type: normal
entered username and password

Successfully downloaded a file (stylesheet.css) from my server to my laptop.
Made a few changes
Tried to upload and got this message:

Status: Starting upload of C:\Users\LordLiverpool\Documents\FileZilla\style.css
Command: PASV
Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (xx,xx,xx,xx,xx,xx). (I have deleted my ip address and two other numbers here)
Command: STOR style.css
Response: 550 style.css: Permission denied
Error: Critical file transfer error

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks very much!

There could be many reasons for this. However, the most likely reason is that you are trying to upload to somewhere other than /httpdocs (for example if you try to upload to "/". All website files must be uploaded to /httpdocs (or a directory below that).

Another reason is lack of disk space

OK, having seen your other post about using File Manager, what's happening is that style.css on your server is owned by apache and when you upload via FTP the user is (your ftp username) which cannot overwrite the file owned by apache.
