  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Update 8.6 -> 9.0 failed because of hotfix

2. Failed attempt to remove the offending hotfix:

# rpm -e psa-hotfix5-8.6.0-8.6.0-suse10.1.build86080930.08.i586
error: Failed dependencies:
psa-hotfix5-8.6.0 = 8.6.0-suse10.1.build86080930.08 is needed by (installed) psa-updates-8.6.0-suse10.1.build86080930.08.noarch

So Plesk and rpm are at odds with each other and are giving me conflicting advice. What can I do now?

Please take into account that my Linux prowess is limited, otherwise I would do without Plesk in the first place.

remove offending hotfixes with yast

i solved similar issues with psa-hotfix5-8.6.0 and psa-hotfix4-8.6.0 (SuSE 10.2) by removing the offending packages in yast.
yast will complain about packages being 'locked' and a psa-update package depending on the hotfixes, you need to allow unlocking and deleting the dependant package.

afterwards upgrade to 9.0 finished without problems and until now no problems.

except that the hostname in /var/qmail/control/me was wrong (see http://serversupportforum.de/forum/plesk/29625-plesk-9-0-wartschlange-wird-nich-abgebaut.html), which led to problems with gmx [bounces with error: Sorry, your helo has been denied], but i do not think that this had something to do with the forced removal of the hotfixes.
maybe you should check this setting after upgrading.

Thanks for the good help. I couldn't do it with YaST, but I simply used rpm to remove all offending hotfixes.

Had another problem regarding the license, but it rectified itself after a reboot.

Same probleme here, press the upgrade license buton, the message will keep there, reboot the server and everything will be all right :)
