I noticed in my Plesk that 11.5.29 is available but since you have some major issues with 11.0 to 11.5 migration I decided to update only MU form 51 to 53 but got error

By an update process. Reboot your server and reexecute your update.

reboot seems a bit too harsh for production server.. any service that can be restarted? or killed?
must be some sort of process that can be killed?

Waiting for 30 minutes should be sufficient in most cases - installer process will exit after this timeout.

Parallels Installer process usually has "installer" in its name.
