Update fails with message "ERROR: The product wit ID plesk ..."

MartinHerbst

New Pleskian
Hi,

since some weeks I had the problem that the update from the web interface failed with timeout error, so I performed the Update from version 10.2 to 10.3.1 manually. The update worked fine and without any problems.
But the problem with the timeouts persists and also the nightly run of the fails with the following message:
"ERROR: The product with ID plesk is not installed on the server".

The software is running fine and /usr/local/psa/version contains the following information:
10.3.1 Ubuntu 10.04 1012110812.15

How can I repair this problem?

Martin

Did you try to perform update with /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller ?

Yes I tried it with exactly the same result. It was called with the following parameters:
/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller --select-product-id plesk --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --install-component base

These are the same that are used by the daily cron job that was automatically created by plesk panel.

There is no product id 'plesk'. Read carefully description for ' --select-product-id' option:

--select-product-id <product id>
Select the product by specifying its ID. To see the
list of all supported product IDs, use
--show-all-releases option.

And use

# /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller --show-all-releases

command for product ids listing. But I suggest you just skip this option as not important.

Thanks for your mail. I have tried the option --show-all-releases and it gives the following output:

File downloading plesk.inf3: 72%..100% was finished.

plesk PLESK_10_1_1 (Parallels Plesk Panel 10.1.1)
plesk PLESK_10_0_1 (Parallels Plesk Panel 10.0.1)

Now I am a bit confused. The output shows a prod_id named "plesk" but I am missing the currently installed version. I already have installed version 10.3.1 ...

BTW: If I start autoinstaller without the option, I get the same messages as before ("The product with ID plesk is not installed ...").

I have gone through the issue, but I still can’t figure out why that error is shown. Please check whether the product id you entered was right or not as the error message refers that it may be the problem with the product id. As you have confirmed that you have installed the software, the issue will certainly with the product id alone. So try to figure out the correct product id and try it again. Read the manuals carefully for the details and I hope you will get the correct product id from there.

I have the exact same issue. Machine has Plesk 10.4 installed, suddenly autoinstaller no longer works:
