• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
    With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

heydemar

Basic Pleskian
Hi,

i have a question.
On my Plesk Demo Instanz (Plesk Obsidian Version 18.0.48) i want to Update my MariaDB vom 10.6 to 10.7

root@vps4:~# apt-get install mariadb-server-10.7
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
mariadb-server-10.7 is already the newest version (1:10.7.7+maria~ubu2004).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.

But in my Plesk Panel I see this Version:

Thank you!!!!

PS: Sorry Admin can you move ist to Plesk Obsidian?
Thanks!

MariaDB 10.6 is also the LTS version (Long Term Support):

I don't understand a bit - first I updated the database from version 10.3 to 10.5. Everything worked fine. Now I've tried to upgrade to version 10.6 and I can no longer run this version. When upgrading, do I have to leave the basic version 10.3 on the server?

What does the bind-address look like in my.cnf?

For MariaDB 10.6 it should be:
bind-address = ::
or
bind-address = 127.0.0.1

[client-server]

# Import all .cnf files from configuration directory
!includedir /etc/mysql/conf.d/
!includedir /etc/mysql/mariadb.conf.d/
[mysqld]
sql_mode=ERROR_FOR_DIVISION_BY_ZERO,NO_AUTO_CREATE_USER,NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION
bind-address = ::ffff:127.0.0.1
local-infile=0

I install everything from scratch.
I installed a ready-made installation of Debian + Plesk before.
I will try to install a clean version of Debian and finally manually install Plesk. Just wondering which version is better 10 or 11?

I managed to run 10.6. I can log in to Mysql, but only as root. When I try to run Plesk, I get a message
ERROR 1698 (28000): Access denied for user 'admin'@'localhost'
