P_heck

Basic Pleskian
Hello,

this morning I received a mail about a problem during automatic updates (details below) and I was trying to check the update section in Parallel Plesk Panel. Clicking on the link returns a blank page - worked before and port 8447 is not blocked! Browser reports: ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Restart of PSA didn't change anything.

Does anyone have any idea how to track this down to the root cause?

Log from Autoinstaller: http://www.peter-heck.de/panel.log

Plesk 11.5.30 Update #32 on Debian 7.3
uname -a: Linux srv2.ph-internet.de 3.2.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.2.51-1 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Ciao Peter

You need to look at the error log while you are opening the updater page.
About the log, most of the errors in it indicate missing packages from the respective repos ..such as:

http://autoinstall.plesk.com/debian/SITEBUILDER_11.5.10/dists/all/all/binary-i386/Packages
http://catalog.marketplace.parallel...t.com/phpList/2.10.5-4/updates.atom?packager=

Which I think is a problem with the plesk repo ...

Igor should look at it and advice if there any changes to the package sources ...(Then you can update with a respective source)

@abdi: Thanks for the quick reply - but I couldn't find any error logs in /usr/local/psa/admin/logs

root@srv2 /var/log # ls -altr /usr/local/psa/admin/logs
total 184K
-rw-r----- 1 psaadm root 0 Dec 27 10:23 sitebuilder.log
-rw-r----- 1 root root 34K Dec 28 06:25 httpsd_access_log.processed.6.gz

drwxr-xr-x 19 root root 4.0K Feb 9 04:08 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Feb 9 06:34 httpsd_access_log
-rw-r----- 1 psaadm root 99K Feb 9 11:53 panel.log

the access-logs are empty and nothing in the other logs which would help.

Also tail -f /var/log/sw-cp-server/error_log didn't show any problem.

Ciao Peter

Well... That's a bit unfortunate. I suppose you may try downloading http://autoinstall.plesk.com/Parallels_Installer/parallels_installer_Debian_7.4_x86_64 to your server manually and running it.

this installer work but wants to update apache and mysql
is it ok to continue ?

Well, apache and mysql will be taken from your OS vendor repository. So there's nothing criminal with that (assuming you trust your system repositories ;) ).

What's the problem here is that your regular updates will still use the old installer version. I suppose you can copy the newly downloaded installer binary over the /opt/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller. It's crude, yes, but should help for the foreseeable future.

i update and replace /opt/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller with downloaded and all work now (also updates from control panel)
10x

Well... That's a bit unfortunate. I suppose you may try downloading http://autoinstall.plesk.com/Parallels_Installer/parallels_installer_Debian_7.4_x86_64 to your server manually and running it.

Works for me too - but why did this happen? Did the last update replaced the autoinstaller file with a broken version?

Ciao Peter

No, that's highly unlikely. You must have had this version all along. 11.5 released with autoinstaller which had a bug (the one you've encountered) that was later fixed (you may search for threads with similar problem) after Debian 7.2 released. Did you know that each release has a minimal version of autoinstaller it need to be installed or updated with? So I suppose this version either got overwritten or just never got fixed in the first place.
