• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hey Guys,

I have a server running 8.1 and want to upgrade all the way to 9.2.

Two questions:

Q1. Do I have to upgrade a version at a time... I.E., 8.1 to 8.2 to 8.3... or can i upgrade in one big move from 8.1 to 9.2?

Q2. My server is running PHP5 and won't let me upgrade to 8.2 b/c it requires PHP4. So am i stuck w/o downgrading?

Thanks for you help!

I dont know if you can do a direct upgrade, but I have always used incremental ones and worked very well. I'd recommend the latter.

Hello,

1. Although it is not stated in the Parallels Plesk Panel 9.2 for Linux/Unix Installation Guide

Upgrading Parallels Plesk Panel on Linux and FreeBSD
http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/PPP9/Doc/en-US/plesk-9.2-unix-installation-guide/18514.htm

it is strongly recommended to upgarde first to Plesk 8.6 and after that to the latest version of Plesk, which is currently Plesk 9.2.

2. Take a look at the Knowledge Base article

I cannot upgrade Parallels Plesk Panel using autoinstaller because package of newer version is installed
http://kb.odin.com/en/615

I think that is exactly your case.

Regards,
Denis.

Really?

Denis, what does a kb article about "How can we import/export accounts and invoices from/into external accounting system?" have to do with upgrading from Plesk 8.1? http://kb.odin.com/en/615

Maybe you meant a different kb article?

Thanks,
