Question Upgrade MySQL to MySQL 8.0 without plesk management

I have a Windows-Server that uses Plesk-Obsidian/Mail-Enable and MySQL 5.7. I realize Plesk does not yet fully support MySQL 8.0 on Windows. (and may never?!) But I wish to upgrade anyway.
The server is 2016 Server.
I need to know the gotchas to watch-out for... and the things that I need to think about.

Can I just use the MySQL in-place upgrade service, that they offer? They make it sound so simple. Using the upgrade-utility
I realize the Plesk control panel will no longer work with MySQL. I can restart it with other means.
