  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue upgrading ImunifyAV to paid version - unwanted side effects

HI all,

evaluated ImunifyAV for a while on a server. Happy.
Bought now yearly sunscription. Steps: click on buy, taken to plesk store, pay by card, hit button "install license in Plesk".
Endresult: license installed. But:
- Plesk language was suddenly German, default language reset to German. Although we operate only in English. [Default of providers original image is German I think]
- Plesk automatic updates are disabled
- Although the mail server functions (that were enabled) keep on working, the tick for "Enable mail management functions in Plesk" is unticked. Making the Mail tab unavailable, and therefore adjustments of any config for all subscriptions/domains impossible.

Now this is *very* weird. And unwanted.
But even more so as EXACTLY the same happened (a while back when still on Onxy) when evaluating the Acronis backup extension.
At the time i assumed the Acronis extension to be at fault. But it now looks like like there is a glitch in the implementation by Plesk.

How can two unrelated extensions change completely unrelated Plesk settings like that?
Tested it on a second server, straight afterwards, with the same result.

Did anyone else experience this strange behaviour?

Cheers,
Tom

CentOS Linux 7.7.1908 ; Obsidian 18.0.21 #4

EDIT / ADD: thinking about it, in both cases (acronis & imunify upgrade) a server outside of plesk connected to the plesk server and did some config changes. Imunify to automatically install the license, acronis to change/add/adjust certain settings automatically.
Something that stands out against a "normal" extension installation without connectivity from the outside and which works flawlessly.
