vhost_ssl.conf ignored for subdomains

Hello,

I discovered a bug with plesk: The manual says to create a custom server configuration you need to place vhost.conf and vhost_ssl.conf file in the ./conf directory either for top-level domain or subdomains. When using the command [psa]/websrvmng --reconfigure-vhost --vhost-name=whatever.com plesk inserts a Include line in the http.include file in the tld/conf directory. Unfortunately this is NOT DONE for vhost_ssl.conf in subdomains. So when this file exists for a specific subdomain the Include for this file is missing. I got some of vhost_ssl.conf files for several subdomains and have to place the Include line manually in the http.include file everytime a admin changes the plesk config, pretty annoying.

Do I have a wrong plesk config? Well, I don't change anything, just doing my updates. Do I need to change something or can others confirm?

Thanks anyways

I have noticed this as well. It is actually something I was just trying to figure out after I have added the vhost_ssl.conf file to the target subdomain, restart everything, run phpinfo, the darn target has not appeared in the local values of open_basedir. I tried sending a message to the parallel peeps, but had no response :(

Hi Creative. I just plugged the https into the vhost.conf instead of vhost_ssl.conf. Restarted. Works fine now. The folder i wanted is not in my open_basedir.

Silly question, but do the domains have SSL enabled in their domain settings ?

Yes, either for the tld or the subdomain. Anyway makes no sense to check for the ssl-flag in the domain setup rather than to check wether the vhost_ssl.conf exists and put the include statement into http.include.

The way with vhost.conf is also obsolete - well, not now for sure. I was reading the manual for my problem, and it marks out to create a vhost_ssl.conf. Unfortunately, this is buggy for now. Think about what happens in the future, they fix the problem and my directives in vhost.conf are not present for the SSL-secured directory, because the bug is fixed and I am working with vhost.conf, because of the bug. Baaad Trap!
