Question Watchdog extension: "Plesk PHP Engine" stopped – what is it and how to start (if necessary)?

King555

Regular Pleskian
Server operating system version
Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS
Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Obsidian 18.0.68 Update #1 Web Admin Edition
I have the latest version of the Watchdog extension installed. The "Plesk PHP Engine" is stopped according to Watchdog. But there is no service with this name so I can start it. But everything seems to work.

So what is "Plesk PHP Engine", is it required?

Hi,

The alarm that the service does not work is false-positive; it seems it is happened because of some changes on Ubuntu24 related to permissions (tildeslash / Monit / issues / #1109 - unable to monitor php-fpm unixsockets on ubuntu 24.04 — Bitbucket). It is a known bug under id EXTPLESK-8838.

So what is "Plesk PHP Engine", is it required?
Yes, it is required, in a few words, it is a php-fpm for Plesk itself.
As I said, the alarm is false positive, that is why everything works despite the warning.
