  • Support for BIND DNS has been removed from Plesk for Windows due to security and maintenance risks.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS.

What backup proceedure are you using?

I am curious as to what backup solutions people are using on Plesk with freeBSD

Deposit knowledge here :)

psadump/psarestore

On Sundays we make a full-backup like this:

http://faq.oneandone.co.uk/server/root_server/7.html

In addition we backup the hostings like this:

PHP:
LOGFILE=/home/backup/logs/domainbackup_$(date +'%Y%m%d_%H%M').log
FILE=domainbackup_$(date +'%Y%m%d_%H%M').tar
DATE=$(date +'%Y%m%d_%H%M')

cd /home/httpd/vhosts/

echo "*** Creating Single-Backups ***" >> $LOGFILE

for file in $( ls -xA1d * ); do
        if [ -d ${file} ]
        then
                du $file --max-depth=0 >> $LOGFILE
                echo "Saving " $file
                tar -czf $file.tar.gz $file >>$LOGFILE
        fi
done

cd /var/lib/mysql

for database in $( ls -xA1d *); do
        if [ -d ${database} ]
        then
                du $database --max-depth=0 >> $LOGFILE
                echo "Dumping databases " $database
                mysqldump -uadmin -p*** $database > $database.sql
                tar -czf $database.sql.tar.gz $database.sql >>$LOGFILE
        fi
done

btw.: Datasheet is a script of us, wich prints out the passwords of a domain for plesk/mail/ftp, etc. If someone wants to try it out... ;)

I favor using 4PSA's Total Backup, and where possible Acronis.
