What purpose does httpsdocs serve?

Its not yet become an issue, but I am noticing that this httpsdocs directory does not seem to serve a purpose (as of yet) on my client sites. Those that have SSL certificates link them from within the httpdocs directory without difficulty.

What was the purpose behind the httpsdocs directory? Was that needed for shared SSL operations?

Hi,

I remember in old versions of Plesk this folder was used for SSL, but now it's not, probably it leaved for compatibility issues.

It's for Shared SSL option. Read the corresponding help page.

Other than the documentation stating it being for Shared SSL, it doesn't seem to elaborate much further. Where may one get more information on how to set up Shared SSL within a Plesk Windows environment please?
