  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

whats up with the mysql dumps in /var/lib/psa ?

what are they used for?

and what's up with the plesk backup tools? any way to automate them?

They are only dumps for the psa and horde databases. They are useful if the databases are corrupted.

The Plesk backup tools are not useful for daily backups as they do not support remote storage or incremental backups.

thanks for the answer.

I just had a closer look, and Plesk indeed doesnt do incremental backups, however - remote storage (via ftp) seems possible.

Not on the server level, but on the domain level which will not help you to backup the server.

oh - true.

I only thought about domain level.

well, domain level will have to do for me. I'm not hosting anything commercial so my resources are limited :)
