why am I not seeing the dns admin within the domain alias?

from what I read in the manual I should see a dns within an alias after it has been created.

I click on the alias and it takes me right to the edit alias. there is no dns icon to change the dns on the alias.

any thoughts?

the dns gets added there is just no dns icon when looking at the domain alias
