Wordpress etc and SELInux (Novoice)

Dear,
I am using plesk 11 on centos6.
SELinux prevents wordpress and joomla (etc) to auto update.
Disabling SELinux would result in major security issues.
Is there a good way to bypass this system for wordpress and other CMS without introducing security risks?

There's shouldnt be a major problem disabling SELinux. I have actually disabled it in so many cases to have horde work.
