Issue Wordpress sites and its databases 'successfully' migrated lack content in the end

Emmanuel Alen

New Pleskian
Hi,

We are attempting to migrate some wordpress sites residing in a shared server to a new exclusive server on Plesk.

Old shared server
-We have moved all original files from the shared servers using FTP
-The respective databases were exported without compressing to ensure integrity.

New plesk server
-The domains were installed
-New wordpress fresh installations were developed.

Migration
-The original files were transferred via FTP to the plesk respective directories without the old 'wpconfig'. Files were verify to be successfully transferred.
-'import dump', The original database was uploaded to the new wp database without errors, tested to be fully integrated and working.

It all seemed fine, until you check the wordpress sites have no content deployed, no images, no pages, no posts, even so the content is on the right folders on plesk.

Any idea what possibly could be happening? Our best bet is that there is something wrong with the Database migration...

We appreciate any support.

Regards

alternativ you can try / use the Plesk Extension Site import which works pretty nice within wordpress
Import your website or mail account hosted on a different server into Plesk. Migrate content from servers running both Linux and Windows, or even from servers that do not have Plesk installed. Importing websites and mail accounts has never been so easy and hassle-free. The extension automatically detects the location of your website's content and copies it the fastest way possible.

Features
You can import one or more objects of the following types:

  • Applications (currently you can import WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and PrestaShop)
  • Folders
  • Databases
  • Mail accounts

See documentation: Importing Websites
