  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Wordpress Toolkit URL

gregconway

Basic Pleskian
Hi,

When running autoinstaller I receive this error -

ERROR: Failed to install or upgrade the extension 'WordPress Toolkit' (package: wp-toolkit):
Error in cURL request: couldn't connect to host

This is because I am running an outgoing firewall.

I already allow connections to the following sites -

ext.plesk.com
autoinstall.plesk.com

...which works for everything except recently the wordpress toolkit.

what URL is plesk trying to connect to for updates to wordpress toolkit?

I am running Plesk Onyx (latest version) on Linux on various servers and am seeing this issue today on two servers but this is not the first time I've seen this issue! Switching teh outgoing firewall off temporarily solves the issue but it would be much better if I knew the URL and added it to the firewall! :)

Thanks,

Greg.

Hi Aleksey. Thanks for your response. If I stop the outgoing firewall then the updates work fine - no need to download/upgrade it manually. Therefore it must be making a call to another site/IP beyond ext.plesk.com - I just wondered if anybody knew what that would be. I will try and trace it with iptraf and post the results here if I can work it out!
