Server operating system version
Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS
Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Version 18.0.60 Update #1
Hello,

I'm relatively new to Plesk, I got dedicated with Ubuntu 22.06b and latest Plesk Version 18.0.60 Update #1.

I installed the extension WP-Toolkit and when I try to make a new installation I'm getting this error:

Unable to download the WordPress 6.5.2 package from wordpress.org. Please try again later or contact the server administrator.

Looking into this I couldn't find any other information or solution for this issue. Here is from the action log:

Looks like the Wordpress.org server couldn't handle the download requests. Should be temporarily. Do you still have this issue?

Yes, I tried running the same command from SSH

GET https://wordpress.org/wordpress-6.5.2.zip

And the return result is this:
<html>
<head><title>429 Too Many Requests</title></head>
<body>
<center><h1>429 Too Many Requests</h1></center>
</body>
</html>

I managed solving this by uploading the file to of my servers and downloading it from there with GET and moving it to the packages folder by following this article.

But it's weird that this is not working. I checked the firewall as well and it's going through...

I do have machines at Hetzner and IONOS. IONOS seems fine, Hetzner machines do have the issue. Configuration, OS, Updates are the same on all.

Thank you all for letting us know. We are investigating this issue, but haven't been able to find the cause so far. We've published an support article with a workaround method: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/...he-WordPress-package-from-https-wordpress-org

Anyone who hasn't posted here yet and experiences the same issue please let us know. Either by posting here or by contacting support.
Hello,
I have exactly the same issue. Impossible to install a new WordPress Website from wordpress toolkit we got the following error : "Unable to download the WordPress 6.5.2 package from https: // wordpress.org/. Please try again later or contact the server administrator.". Please try again later or contact the server administrator.. Please try again later or contact the server administrator."
We are also at Hetzner.
Thanks for helping to resolve this issue !

Actually that was my workaround I proposed that solution from the start of this thread. Anyway I made this thread for some official solution. One thing I'm considering because it is happening to some few ISPs that it could be something to do with blacklisted IPs. Not sure but the error message from wordpress.org it's some sort of rate limiting which might be applied to certain things...

Again, thank you all for letting us know. We really apricate that!

I also want to give you a quick status update. We've identified that the issue is caused by WordPress servers and only affects a relatively small group of users (mostly in Europe). We contacted Automattic (the company who develops WordPress) to report the issue.

For anyone how is also affected by this and hasn't posted here yet, please let us know by posting which provider you are using.
