    Upgrade PHP

I have searched endlessly for a walk-through on how to upgrade the version of PHP packaged with PP 11.5.30. OS is Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS At present, the installed version of php is 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.17. I'm not looking to upgrade PP to 12 yet, as I want to let any initial upgrade issues settle...

permissions error using folders above httpdocs

Check the owner of these files is set to your domain owner. How are you editing these files? By FTP? Through Plesk File Manager? If you are unable to install additional Joomla Modules etc, it may be that the Modules folder owner is currently set to something other than the domain owner. Also...

Proper DNS initial configuration on dedicated server

Although interweb standards state that you should have at least two Name Servers, this is really only for redundancy and your site/server will work with just the one Nameserver IP resolving from Nameserver records. From what you say here, I presume it means that the Nameservers for your second...

Proper DNS initial configuration on dedicated server

Have you also defined your Nameservers by creating NS records within your Plesk DNS Config. EDIT: Have you followed the above instructions eg Created Glue Records with your Domain registrar?

Real PLESK 11 beginner. How do I point domains from separte registrar to my strato

There are two ways to achieve this. 1, Use your domain registrars Name Servers and create the relevant A records to point the domain towards your server. 2, Use your Plesk server to host the DNS records. Have a look at this post for more info.

Plesk backup: "error: Unknown object type"

Are there any entries in the backup logs? http://kb.parallels.com/en/111283 The last time I had this issue, a customer had run a Concrete5 Database backup. The MySQL Dump file had been created without any permissions, which stopped the backup system user accessing the file which in turn failed...

How to customize Plesk Panel - Default FTP Home Directory | Subject of Notificatios

Unfortunately, there is no way to hide root owned folders under the File Manager is Panel. From what I can see in the 11.5 preview release, the file manager has been completed over-hauled. It looks like the File Manager will work in a similar way to FTP in that it seems to take folder view...

    Backup Server

Plesk panel doesn't run backup using SFTP, so being able to select port 22 would be pointless! That's why it's called FTP Repository, not SFTP Repository! For the record, SFTP is basically File Transfer over SSH. FTPS is FTP with SSL. Glad it's now working anyway!

    Backup Server

FTP runs on port 21, not 22. Ensure that you can make an FTP connection to port 21 using your root account login.

    Question to create domains

If you add a new domain to a subscription, Plesk creates a new vhost folder which contains all the config files for the domain. The actual site files (httdocs) are hosted in a folder under the first domain. If you set the site files folder of the new domain to httdocs, it will use the original...

How to customize Plesk Panel - Default FTP Home Directory | Subject of Notificatios

Hi Markus, You can hide any folders owned by root by changing to the following in /etc/proftpd.conf (somewhere round line 58) <Directory /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts> GroupOwner psacln HideNoAccess On HideUser root </Directory> Your users will then only be able to view their writable folders...
