• The APS Catalog has been deprecated and removed from all Plesk Obsidian versions.
Applications already installed from the APS Catalog will continue working. However, Plesk will no longer provide support for APS applications.
  • Please be aware: with the Plesk Obsidian 18.0.78 release, the support for the ngx_pagespeed.so module will be deprecated and removed from the sw-nginx package.

7.5.3 to 7.5.6 Migration Advice

We have a stable 7.5.3 install running with Windows 2003 (latest patches), DrWeb, and SmarterMail 3.x.

We have watched the forums for user patching experiences, but have not yet decided that patching a stable 7.5.3 system is worthwhile, particularly with version 8.x looming on the horizon.

Yes, there are functional issue between 7.5.3 and SmarterMail, but we use the Plesk interface minimally, and not at all for SmarterMail management. We isolated and eliminated the bugs that presented themselves. For us, Plesk is little more than a convenient and cost-effective way of setting up new IIS sites and running server-based email antivirus. For everything else, we use the built-in OS or SmarterMail interfaces.

In essence, once we worked around the Plesk 7.5.x and the SmarterMail 3.x bugs, we are reluctant to fix what is no longer broken.

Thoughts, commentaries, criticisms, advice?

Thank you in advance for your replies.
