Recently when creating domains on our Windows servers (both running 8.6), the default webmail A record is not created.
I've checked the DNS template and the record is there as it's always been. I tried deleting and recreating it from the template but that didn't work. I then tried creating a new A record on the template (e.g. www3.domainname) and that appears when a new domain was created.
Another weird thing I noticed was, if you create a new domain, with the webmail A record missing, and you choose 'restore defaults' under DNS, it will actually create the webmail record. So I really don't know what to make of this, it seems like a bug, but how it could've just started happening so randomly is strange. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
