Backup and restore from another server!!!!!!

Am I to understand that I cannot backup a domain from one plesk server and restore it to another server? Without having root access ot both servers and changing a certificate value inside the MySQL database or has this been changed in Plesk 8?

This has been changed in Plesk 8.0

Now you are able to restore backups from another Plesk under client's account... But! Restore process will use _your_current_clients_privileges_. Other words - you will not be able to restore said databases, if you have no create_database permission.

Sure you can, we routinely move domains among different plesk servers.

All you need is the plesk admin login password for both boxes.

Log into plesk
click "server" on the left nav panel
click "migration manager" under "services"
click "start a new migration"

in the "login" name field select "other" and use the "admin" account instead of the "root" username.

Thanks Guys for the response, however I dont think either of these solutions will work in this particular case. As I should have stated earlier, All I have is a dump file from another plesk hoster. I dont have access to the other server at all. Is there a way to do this or do I have to just recreate the site manually?

Thanks for your time.
