• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Backup centos server file directory

Regular Pleskian
Hiya, i would like some advice on which protocol i should use for performing a backup of important server files and folders. I do make a snapshot but i found that's not enough.

My Centos 6.6 has ProFTPD configuration setup only for webhosts so no root access.
I came across SCP, but don't know how to secure that like a Pro. I have also heard about SSHFS for linux.

If someone could guide me i would appreciate that

SCP is a secure copy tool, you use it to copy files across Linux servers. It also depends upon your backup repository, ie what transportation protocols are supported with it. Some and MOST only support FTP, in that case you only have FTP option and etc
