  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Backup Plesk 8.0 and Restore to a Different Server

amandler

Basic Pleskian
I have run a backup of Plesk using the command line "pleskbackup" routine for backing up ALL. I moved the backup to a new server running comparable Linux, and with Plesk 8 already installed. I then created a map file, and was able to validate it. I ran plesk_installation_directory/bin/pleskrestore --restore <backup file name> -level all -map <map file name>.
The backup runs, but does not succeed. Instead, it creates a directory called "restore" in the same directory where the backup files are, and fills it with .tmp files. That's as far as it gets.

I get several error lines like this referring to various *.ini files:

audit(1152539833.288:65): avc: denied { getattr } for pid=2458 comm="httpd" name="mysql.ini" dev=md1 ino=1720358 scontext=user_u:system_r:httpd_t tcontext=root:eek:bject_r:tmp_t tclass=file

but the backup doesn't abort.

Am I going about this the right way?

Thanks!
