Backup / Restore Procedures

Good Morning,

I am having to re-image my server. So before sending that into the DC I need to make sure backups and restores work. With a non-important domain I ran a backup file to a remote FTP. Once complete I removed a couple mail boxes, DB, etc.

I then ran the restore and I get mixed results. Sometimes it brings over DB's sometimes it doesn't. This does this to mail boxes and even files in httpdocs!!

What is the recommend way in backing up these webs? There are about 20 of them, with DB, etc.

Also, does this darn backup feature actually work?

Thanks for any comments/suggestions.

Works

Yes, it does work. At least it has worked for me.

Running 7.5.4r on Fedora 2.

I'd like to add to the question, though.

Where do the Plesk FTP backup files reside on the server?

If a server re-image is performed, those files will no longer be there, so the question is.

How does one restore those files so the FTP restore works properly?
