Resolved Best procedure to update MariaDB 10.6 to 10.11

Server operating system version

Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS

Plesk version and microupdate number

Plesk Obsidian v18.0.52_build1800230421.10 os_Ubuntu 20.04

As the latest Version of Plesk Obsidian supports MariaDB 10.11, I would like to upgrade now from my current version 10.6.
What is the best procedure for doing this? Is this the right basis: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/12388091703703

Yes I would follow that guide, just replace the version number it has listed (10.4) with the current version you want to upgrade to (10.11).

I would also recommend that you make backups, take a snapshot of the server, etc., so you have a plan to restore back if anything happens.

Thank you! I just upgraded to MariaDB 10.11.2 following the instructions and your comment as mentioned above. I works perfect and without any errors!

Worked for me on AlmaLinux 8 with Obsidian 18.0.53 going from MariaDB 10.3 to 10.11 following the CentOS 8 commands

Please see Software Requirements for Plesk Obsidian
For now Plesk only does support up to MariaDB 10.6, anything above would be on your own risk

Edit: Missed that Support for 10.11 was already added in Plesk

Noted from that page "If MariaDB has other LTS releases in the future, Plesk will support them as a local database server as well." et viola Change Log for Plesk Obsidian, 18.0.52, 25 April 2023 "MariaDB 10.11 is now supported. It is the latest “long-term support” version from the vendor."

You are right. It's a recent change in the database support policy. No later than a month after such a release has been published by MariaDB, Plesk supports it (according to the new system software requirements).
