can i remove proftpd and install pureftpd?

I'm having alot of problems with proftpd and plesk 8.1 and APF.

I get alot of errors such as "server did not respond after a certain amount of time" - when trying to upload large files.

I was told that maybe I should just use pureftpd instead cause it works alot better with APF.

Has anyone had any expereience with installing pureftp and removing proftp, are there any conflict issues with plesk?


Also, in pureftpd the instructions say just run the install config and then ur done. And i could then just run a remove command for proftpd....? Would there be anything else I would have to do?
