cant add new accounts

We have an issue affecting all our 8.1.1 servers

when trying to add a new account to a user we get one of the following errors:

Failed domain creation: Unable to update domain data: Failed mail post-configuration: Can't create mail domain servie: mailManager->addDomain() failed: mailmng failed: MEAOPO.PostOffice.AddPostOffice failed for name mydomain.com.au [mydomain.com.au]

or

problem is it doesnt exist in the dns server

anyone have any ideas?
