Hi,

I want to install Plesk 7.5.3 on FreeBSD 5.3,and having these errors:
*******************************************************************************
freebsd# sh psa_v7.5.3_build75050509.14_os_FreeBSD_5.3_i386.sh
bsdtar 1.01.011, libarchive 1.01.013
Use gtar
/usr/bin/gtar

Installation of this Plesk distribution requires that Perl 5.008006 version be installed on the server!
freebsd#
****************************************************************************

My perl installed is perl 5.8.7. I tried deinstalling it and installing perl 5.6 but still the problem persist.

Please help.

Thanks!

Mark

Update the ports package, then install Perl 5.8.8 from ports and everything will be ok.

Hi, I looked on www.freebsd.org/ports/, the latest ports for PERL on FreeBSD 5 stable is Perl 5.8.7 not perl 5.8.8.

****************************************************************
freebsd# sh psa_v7.5.3_build75050509.14_os_FreeBSD_5.3_i386.sh
bsdtar 1.01.011, libarchive 1.01.013
Use gtar
/usr/bin/gtar

To continue installing, you should install Perl 5.008006 (you have Perl 5.008007 installed)
freebsd# perl -v

This is perl, v5.8.7 built for i386-freebsd-64int
(with 1 registered patch, see perl -V for more detail)

*********************************************************
And if you could see the error, I got Perl 5.00807 and I should install Perl 5.008006.... hmmm

Ok, so have you tried installing Perl 5.8.6?

I tried looking for Perl-5.8.6.tgz package, but i guess freebsd didnt released it. There is one I found in google but its not for for Freebsd.

:(

Ok, instead of looking on the packages-5-stable of freebsd, i downloaded Perl-5.8.6_2.tbz from the packages-5.4 directory.

And everything went fine. wheeeww....
