Resolved Can't open Backup Manager

Hello folks,

i recently dist-upgraded from ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04.

Unfortunately I cannot open the Backup Manager anymore and my daily backup tasks fail.

I found in the pmmcli.log that there is an issue with pmm-ras tool:
/opt/psa/admin/bin/pmm-ras: symbol lookup error: /opt/psa/admin/bin/pmm-ras: undefined symbol: _ZN7log4cpp8Category11getInstanceERKNSt7__cxx1112basic_stringIcSt11char_traitsIcESaIcEEE

The UI and and the log responds with FTP Dump file does not exist.

What i've done yet:
- Check if libjson is present (it is)
- plesk repair installation

Found a thread where I should do this command:

# /usr/bin/perl /opt/psa/admin/bin/plesk_agent_manager server --get-size --incremental --session-path=/opt/psa/PMM/sessions/2016-11-03-050003.483/

Smartmatch is experimental at /opt/psa/PMM/agents/PleskX/Packer.pm line 6866.

@redhell, it looks like your installation was not fully dist-upgraded. At least the following packages weren't updated to the Ubuntu 16.04 versions: plesk-mysql-server, plesk-wp-cli, psa-pear.

Could you please post your exact steps during dist-upgrade?

Please also post the output of the following command: dpkg -l | grep -v '^rc' | grep ubuntu14

Correct these packages weren't updated. I manually updated these package (without the plesk-wp-cli; can't find the deb file).

I've followed the upgrade guide in the documentation but the distupgrade.helper post shell script was removed in the upgrade process so I had to run the plesk installer again and installed plesk from the installer. After this i ran the post upgrade script.

Every other function works fine just the backup function doesn't work. It looks like there is a (shared) library missing.

Yes, it's either missing or compiled for different environment. I suspect that in this case you should check the log4cpp-plesk package. Try reinstalling it:
# plesk installer list plesk 17.0.17 --skip-cleanup >/dev/null 2>&1 || echo failed to create repositories
# apt-get update
# apt-get install log4cpp-plesk --reinstall
# plesk installer list plesk 17.0.17 >/dev/null 2>&1 || echo failed to clean up temporary repositories

You could be right but till now the backup function was the only one which didn't work.

log4cpp was the corrupt one. I don't know why it wasn't updated by ubuntu or plesk installer.

@redhell, I would like to advise you to check (and maybe reinstall, if you have them installed) the following packages as well:
psa-spf2
sw-collectd
sw-librrd
sw-rrdtool

Or at least you would now know where to look if you happen to have problems with SPF, Health Monitor, or Resource controller.
