Changes to css don't stay

Niko

New Pleskian
My website has a left sidebar, for which I want to change the position from relative to fixed (so that it is always visible, also if you scroll down in the main section).
I went with 'File manager' (in my subdomain) to 'css'. There I changed the layout.css file, adding to '#column1-content': 'position: fixed;'.
When I press 'Ok' or 'Apply' and then IMMEDIATELY go the website, its behavior is indeed changed: the sidebar is fixed. (However, the navigation items now expand in a wrong way: they are hidden behind the elements in the main section, for some reason...)
But: when, after changing the layout.css file and pressing 'Ok', I first go to 'Websites & Domains' and go to 'Edit Website', the 'fixed' behavior does not show up, and when I next inspect the 'layout.css' file, my change has vanished. Why? More important, what can I do to get the result I am looking for?

Thanks! Niko
